Judith Margaret Brown (born 9 July 1944)[3] is a British historian, academic and Anglican priest, who specialises in the study of modern South Asia.
Early life and education
Brown was born in India but educated in Britain.
Brown felt the call to ordination when she was young, before the ordination of women was allowed in the Anglican Communion.[4] She was trained at Ripon College Cuddesdon.
She completed her Ph.D.

Career
From 1990 to 2011, she was the Beit Professor of Commonwealth History and a Fellow of Balliol College, Oxford.[5] Earlier she taught at the University of Manchester.
